It’s no secret – Public Places draws heavily from indie rock luminaries Real Estate. The band’s latest single, “Free,” is described by the band as a “failed experiment” to emulate the sound from Real Estate’s groundbreaking third album.
Partly inspired by anime tropes about plot armor, “Free” is a song about having the strong resolve to give something of value without looking for personal gain.
Free is now out on digital platforms.
