Cinéma Lumière is a Filipino indie pop outfit formed in 2018. The band’s members come from a wide range of acclaimed bands in the country’s indie pop scene including The Strange Creatures, Sunday Picnic Love Affair, Carnival Park, Sodajerk, and Unhappy Kids.
The band’s brand of happy/sad melancholia is reminiscent of early C86 and Sarah Records releases – sunny vocal harmonies, reverb-drenched guitars, and self-deprecating lyrics about love, heartache, life, and tragedy.
Starting with the band’s debut single (2019’s “Love”), Cinéma Lumière has slowly built a dedicated following among Manila’s indie pop and shoegaze communities.
